Sound baths offer a deeply restorative way to slow down, rest, and reset the nervous system. You don’t need to meditate, visualise, or “do” anything — simply lie down, get comfortable, and allow the sound to carry you.
At Mrs Peony, sound baths are offered as gentle, in-person group experiences designed to support relaxation, emotional balance, and a sense of calm presence in the body. If you feel drawn to rest more deeply, you are very welcome.
What Is a Sound Bath?
A sound bath is a guided relaxation experience where you are immersed in soothing sounds and vibrations produced by instruments such as singing bowls, chimes, and other therapeutic sound tools.
Rather than listening to music, you are “bathed” in sound. The vibrations travel through the body, helping the nervous system slow down and settle naturally.
You rest comfortably throughout the session, allowing the sound to do the work — there is nothing to achieve, no effort required.
Why Are Sound Baths So Beneficial?
Sound baths work directly with the nervous system. The steady, repetitive tones help the body move out of stress and into a state of rest and regulation.
With regular practice, sound baths can support:
- Deep relaxation and reduced stress
- Calming of the nervous system
- Emotional release and balance
- Improved sleep and restfulness
- A sense of grounding and inner stillness
Many people describe feeling lighter, calmer, and more settled after a session — both mentally and physically.
Why Attend a Sound Bath Regularly?
Like breathwork, sound healing is most supportive when practised consistently.
Attending a sound bath once a month (or more often) creates a dedicated space for your system to fully rest — something many of us don’t allow ourselves in everyday life.
Regular sound baths can help your body remember how to soften, let go, and return to calm more easily over time.
The Group Experience
Sound baths at Mrs Peony are held in a small, supportive group setting.
There is no expectation to share, speak, or engage with others — you remain in your own experience while being gently held within the group energy.
The space is quiet, welcoming, and carefully held, allowing you to rest deeply and safely.
Who Are Sound Baths For?
Sound baths are suitable for:
- People feeling stressed, overwhelmed, or mentally busy
- Those who struggle to switch off or relax
- Anyone seeking deep rest and nervous system regulation
- People curious about gentle, holistic wellbeing practices
- Beginners — no experience is needed
Who Might Sound Baths Not Be For?
Sound baths may not be suitable if you:
- Have a pacemaker or electronic implant
- Have epilepsy or seizure disorders
- Have serious heart conditions
- Have metal plates or medical implants that may be affected by vibration
- Are sensitive to sound or vibration
If you are unsure whether a sound bath is right for you, please get in touch before booking so we can discuss this together.
Types of Sound Baths at Mrs Peony
Three different sound bath experiences are offered, allowing you to choose what best supports you.

This option is especially supportive if you find it takes time to settle or switch off.
Transformative Sound Bath

This sound bath is intentionally designed to cleanse and clear emotional and energetic layers.

A Gentle Invitation
Sound baths at Mrs Peony are not about fixing, analysing, or pushing yourself.
They are an invitation to rest — to let your body soften, your nervous system settle, and your mind become quiet.
A space to simply lie down, be held by sound, and return to yourself.
A Note on Sound, Sensations, and Emotional Release
Sound works on a deep level of the nervous system and body. Because of this, some people may occasionally notice sensations or emotional responses during a sound bath.
Certain sounds or frequencies can gently activate stored memories, emotions, or physical sensations. This might show up as temporary feelings of sadness, emotional release, restlessness, tingling, warmth, or even mild aches or pains in the body.
If this happens, please know that this is completely normal. These responses are not something to fear or resist — they are simply signs that the body and nervous system are responding and releasing what is ready to move.
In these moments, the most supportive thing you can do is:
- soften and relax where you can
- breathe slowly and gently
- allow the experience to unfold without trying to change it
The more you surrender and allow, the more easily the sensation or emotion can pass.
Sound baths at Mrs Peony are offered as healing sessions, where sound and vibration support the body’s natural ability to cleanse, clear, and rebalance. Anything that arises does so for a reason — to be processed, released, and integrated.
You are always supported throughout the session, and the intention is that you leave feeling calmer, lighter, and more grounded than when you arrived.
